Home Delivery Program

Maxfield Public Library offers free home delivery of library materials for Loudon residents who are unable to visit the library in person due to age, illness, disability, mobility limitations, or temporary circumstances such as injury or lack of transportation.

Who Can Use This Service

Loudon residents with a valid Maxfield Library card who are homebound temporarily or long-term may qualify. If you do not have a library card, staff can help you register.

What You Can Borrow

Home delivery patrons may borrow up to 10 items at a time, including:

  • Books (regular and large print)
  • DVDs
  • Magazines

You may request specific titles or ask library staff to select materials based on your interests. Only materials owned by Maxfield Public Library are available for delivery.

Delivery Schedule

Deliveries are typically made Wednesdays between 10 AM and 5 PM by library staff and are scheduled in advance. At the time of delivery, please leave any items you are returning at your door for pickup.

Renewals and Returns

Items are checked out for two weeks and will automatically renew unless another patron has requested them. Maxfield Library does not charge overdue fines, but we encourage timely returns.

Delivery Guidelines

For safety, staff will deliver materials to the front door only and cannot enter homes. Please ensure there is a clear, safe path to the door and that pets are secured during deliveries.

Deliveries may be rescheduled due to weather, safety concerns, or staff availability.
